How To Write A Lab Report

1.)    Purpose - Why are you doing this lab?

2.)    Set up - A picture of how the equipment was arranged for the experiment & a list of what was used.

3.)    Procedure - Not necessary unless you deviated significantly from the established procedure.

4.)    Data - Numbers tables & graphs go here.

5.)    Sample calculation: The key word is sample - I only need to see one of each type of calculation.

6.)    Conclusion - Did you accomplish what you set out to do? How close were your results to what you expected?

If necessary calculate a % difference as follows

                            % difference = ((Expected value - Experimental value)/ Expected value))* 100

Lab reports should be TYPED please including calculations as much as possible. Graphs can be done in Excel or by hand if you are neat or if the data does not lend itself to an Excel curve.
